Web 3.0 Explained
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE WEB AS WE KNOW IT ?
It has been a while since the Web 2.0 era began, but the debate goes back to the origins of the concept of Web 3, which is based on a possibly appropriate definition. Given artificial intelligence, could it be the extent of semantic web concepts in this direction? It has arisen from the fact that the need for a completely changed “Web 3. 0” has practically grown. The name “Web 3.0” is a term coined by author and web designer Darci DiNucci, who coined the term when he distinguished Web 1 from Web 2. Tim O’Reilly and John Battelle defined it as a web platform on which software should be built on the web. In this context, the idea of Web 3 is related to what is known as the “semantic web.” The term was coined by a number of people from the fields of computer science and technology. Web 1.0 introduced thinking tools and completely changed the approach to web pages; in the so-called “Web 2.1” interactive content was shown as a thinking tool and not as a means of communication. The Internet enables everyone to participate in a connected digital technology that supports cooperation between people. [Sources: 18, 19]
Although the idea of providing hyperlinks on the Internet with rich semantics was compelling, it lost momentum in the late 1990 “s and early 2000” s. Web 2.0, the semantic web, with a few exceptions, still behaves as it has been used since the beginning of the Internet. [Sources: 15, 17]
The exact definition of Web 3.0 is hard to pin down, but most descriptions agree that a fundamental feature of the Web is the ability to connect and derive meaning from it, and that it is becoming more intelligent. In short, the antithesis of “Web 2” and “Web 3” would be a network of open networks in which values are shared by multiple participants. The next generation web has been touted as the next step in understanding the meaning of the web (also called semantics). We can say that Web 2 is a more connected, open and intelligent approach to users, which can be called the Smart Web or Web 2, or we can say that Web 3 is an intelligent Web, a machine-to-user approach to understanding and understanding. If the web is to be as philosophical as Web 3.0, we only need a decentralised web. The emerging technologies of this time will become the main component of Web 3, making it decentralized and semantic. [Sources: 7]
While the proliferation of web services could technologically be called Web 2.0, I argue that Web 3. 0 is characterized by the proliferation of new form factors and devices that lead to new patterns of use for the web. The big difference when we talk about the difference between the Web 1.1 and the World Wide Web of the future is that Web 3 will lead to a web world that is inevitably connected to the world around it. Just as the era of Web 2.0 offered the consumer behavior that resulted from the Web 1, 0 days, so it will also prove to be a reaction to the behavior that results from Web 2.5. [Sources: 1, 5, 14]
In line with the naming that I established by calling the second generation of the Web “Web 2.0,” I agree with John Markoff that we can call this the third generation of the Web. Web 3, also called Semantic Web (read, write, execute), is a term that stands for a second-generation World Wide Web. It is the successor to the social web, also called Web 2, and it leads to a new kind of web world with new patterns of use for the world around it. The era of 2010 and beyond relates to the “Future Web,” and both Web 3 and Web 1 are the first generations of this Web, but both lead to new forms of use and new ways of thinking and communicating. Web 3.0 goes beyond the semantic web and embraces the entire social web and many other aspects of web development. As a natural evolution of Web 2, Web 3 is a cycle that takes advantage of its predecessors in terms of interaction with the Internet and expands it, leading to a more connected, intelligent and open Web. Time has passed, and it is obvious that the Web is moving toward artificial intelligence to become a “smart Web,” as there are many examples of it, such as Google’s search engine and Facebook’s social network. This means meaning to the masses of “web pages” that make up the “web” delivered by Web 3.0, but also brings with it new patterns of use for the world around them as time passes.
